Print Gocco work
I make prints with a compact Japanese printing machine, the Print Gocco. The effect is similar to screen printing, but instead of applying one colour with a squeege, many different coloured inks can be applied to the screen at once and are pressed through it. A fine mesh screen is used and the prints can be very detailed, but there's also a vintage look to the results - especially when the inks have crept around the screen a bit during printing. The PG-11 and PG Arts machines I use allow very accurate registration and I often use 2 or 3 screens per print.
I upload scans of new gocco prints and artist's books to my Flickr Print Gocco set . There's also a great source of gocco information, inspiration and printing tips in Flickr's Gocco Group.
